**About the Program**
The Youth Using Violence (YUV) program is dedicated to providing trauma-responsive interventions for young people aged 10-21 who exhibit violent behaviours. The program focuses on educating participants about anger management, conflict resolution, and the consequences of violence, aiming to equip them with the skills necessary for healthier interactions.
**About the Role**
In the role of Program Officer, you will lead and facilitate behaviour change interventions for young people at risk of engaging in domestic violence. You will collaborate closely with clients to build supportive relationships, equipping them with vital skills for emotional regulation and effective communication.
This role is a Full-Time 24-Month Fixed-Term Contract working 38 hours per week based at our Toowoomba service. Contract Ending August 2026.
Pay Rate: $43.07 per/hr - SCHADS Award Level 4
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the KIND intervention, supporting young people in their journey toward change.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety planning while engaging with clients to build trust.
- Collaborate with frontline staff to enhance resource development and training.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with data collection requirements.
- Participate in performance monitoring, ensuring service targets are met.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by sharing insights and supporting peers.
**Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements**:
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Behavioural Science, or a related field.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Valid Queensland Driver Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours and travel within the service region as needed.
**About You**:
- Ability to engage and empower young people and families effectively.
- Experience with behaviour change interventions related to domestic violence.
- Strong understanding of trauma's impact on individuals and families.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player capable of navigating complex human services environments.
