PPDP-R, CSP and the Pacific Engagement teams currently have a number of vacancies. A merit pool will be established through this process and may be used to fill further vacancies as they arise.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

Pacific Police Development Program - Regional (PPDP-R)

As part of the AFP’s Pacific Asia Command, PPDP-R delivers capability development programs to the Pacific alongside other AFP activities, including bilateral missions. Under the AFP’s International Engagement Strategy, capability development is a key pillar, and PPDP-R engages with a diverse range of domestic and global partners to collaboratively build law enforcement capability and capacity across the Pacific.

As a member in PPDP-R you would be responsible for furthering the AFP's interests through the delivery of capability development activities across the Pacific region.

While this selection process will be utilised to fill vacancies in the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) team, successful applicants may be required to provide support across numerous teams within PPDP-R.

PCLEC is a delivery coordination mechanism supporting the implementation of capability development initiatives and operational engagement activities in law enforcement priority areas within the Pacific. PCLEC works collaboratively with a range of partners across Pacific Police Organisations (PPOs), external providers, regional Pacific bodies, working groups and non-government organisations.

As a team member in PCLEC you would be responsible for furthering the AFP’s and Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) interests through the coordination of capability development activities across the Pacific region. Tasks may include:
In partnership with PPOs and supporting providers, guide the design, coordination and implementation of Capability Development Initiatives (CDIs).
Coordinate the assessment of operational engagement requests against PICP strategic priorities for PCLEC delivery.
Promote an awareness of PCLEC’s purpose, objectives, and operations across PPOs and PICP’s law enforcement partners.
Work closely with the PCLEC network of seconded Pacific police officers and national coordinators to advise, guide and deliver on work plans.
Ensure that CDIs and operational engagement requests have compliant monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plans and outcomes are reported as required.
Provide strategic input into high-level executive briefing materials and performance reporting.
Assist to develop work/action plans on the delivery of PCLEC priority activities and contribute to project management reporting and documentation.
Be able to represent the interests of PCLEC in culturally and politically sensitive environments and foster strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
