Our client has a requirement for a Geospatial Support System Lead to manage highly experienced Geospatial Software Engineers to support sustainment of specialised Geospatial Software Applications.

The Objective is to establish a highly skilled and effective Geospatial support team that can meet the sustainment needs of Army Head Quarters.
- The Geospatial Support System Lead - is accountable under the broad direction to manage a team performing sustainment tasks associated with geospatial software administration, requiring an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
- The lead will actively manage stakeholder relationships on a daily basis, mainly with Army at all levels and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate solution to achieve desired outcomes.
- Financial management, review and reporting according to the agreed frequency detailed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
- Reporting and delivering on Service Level Agreements in line with Key Performance Indicators agreed in the MOU between CIOG and AHQ.
- Lead the team with small work packages to enhance the current Geospatial Support System as agreed by CIOG and Army.

- Support Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) ie Land Trial;
- Design and Technical documentation creation/review and updates;
- LaJO and knowledge articles creation and updates;
- Maintain Master Software List;
- Timely licence renewals and Software license procurement;
- Perform quality control on engineering and design documentation submitted to the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) by the various vendors;
- Lead and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into software engineering activities;
- Manage workflows detailing and reporting on measurable milestones and expected outcomes, employing industry best practice.

**Essential Experience/Skills Sought**:

- Arcitecta Mediaflux and or;
- Esri ArcGIS Suite (Pro and Desktop),
- Experience with BAE GXP,
- Experience with SAFE FME,
- Experience with ENVI
- Ability to work with limited guidance demonstrating initiative and responsibility
- Demonstrated experience with Defence systems and software safety, security and managing technical risk
- Demonstrated experience with networking, computers and operating systems,
- Experience in IT Service Management
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills,
- Strong leadership to manage a support team.

**Essential Qualification Requirement**:

- Degree in Management, System Engineer or Tertiary Engineering qualifications in a relevant engineering field, computer science, networking, or relevant technical/engineering experience

**Desirable Experience**:

- Defence and/or CASG communications network engineering experience (SEMP, Technical Certification Plans, Requirements Management),
- Experience in Project Management,
- Defence sustainment experience,
- Understanding of Defence’s Capability Life Cycle.
