**About Gladstone Area Water Board**:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Sustainability Lead to join the Gladstone Area Water Board. (GAWB). GAWB is a commercial Statutory Authority constituted under the Water Act 2000 whose purpose is to supply bulk water to major consumers in the Gladstone Region. Gladstone Area Water Board manages a variety of assets ranging from major water storage through to pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks and water treatment plants. It takes measures to protect the quantity and quality of present and future water supplies and provides, operates and maintains recreational facilities and fish fingerling production facilities and stocking programs. The company's vision is to deliver safe and reliable water services to enhance the livability of the region.

About the Role

**This role can be based in Brisbane, with frequent travel to Gladstone. Alternatively, it can be based in Gladstone**

As the Sustainability Lead, reporting into the Land and Catchment Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of GAWB's Climate Change Strategy and Climate Change Action Plan and reporting.

This is a tactical implementation role with a primary focus on delivering against GAWB's Climate Change Action Plan, as scheduled.

**Furthermore, you will**:
Work collaboratively with your peers as well as GAWB's Board, ELT and other key stakeholders to ensure that the organisation responds to emerging opportunities and risks related to climate change;
Responsible for ensuring GAWB successfully delivers on its climate change aspirations across activities including (but not limited to) investment decisions, project development and asset operations to ensure strategic alignment;
Provide advice and guidance as it relates to climate change policies, programs and plans to achieve GAWB's objectives for sustainability and climate action;
Keep abreast of Government policy and legislative changes on climate change, and assess the strategic and operational consequences for the business;
Interrogate and analyse data, and develop organisational reports; and

Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

**To thrive in this role, you will have**:
Tertiary qualification in environmental or social science / public policy, or business with an academic focus on environment, climate, and corporate responsibility;
Proven experience in the development and delivery of climate change strategy, programs, and projects and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders;
Experience in managing projects and facilitating work programs with multiple stakeholders and groups; and

An outcomes focused self‐starter.
