**About the role**

UGL is currently looking for an experienced Principal Electrical Drafter to become a key member of the Power Utilities teams based in Brisbane. You will be responsible for the production of coordinated and consistent drawings / models and act as a lead coordinator in meeting drafting / modelling submission due dates with an eye on consistency and quality.

This opportunity will see you join our multi-disciplined in-house engineering team working to solve complex problems throughout the project lifecycle across Electrical design.

You will:

- Understand and prepare engineering documentation as directed such as electrical schematics and equipment layouts.
- Ensure drawings are comprehensively set out and fully dimensioned with reasonable tolerances to facilitate effective construction or manufacture using normally available equipment and process.
- Mentor and lead a team and check the drawings prepared by the other draftspersons when required.

- Must have AutoCAD or MicroStation experience, basic Revit experience would be desirable.
- At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role and 2 years’ experience in managing a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
