**Principal Lead, Test Work (Research & Development Lead).**

**The Company**

Queensland Pacific Metals will be an advanced, clean and sustainable producer of critical metals for the emerging lithium-ion battery and electric vehicle sector.

QPM is focused on developing the 100% owned Townsville Energy Chemicals Hub (TECH) Project. The TECH Project will be a modern and sustainable, battery metals refinery, 40km south of Townsville, in northern Queensland. Once operational, the TECH Project will be a carbon negative, sustainable, clean and green production facility that will ultimately position Queensland Pacific Metals as an attractive supplier of key chemicals to the electric vehicle and energy storage industries.

QPM have secured binding offtake agreements for the sale of nickel and cobalt with global battery manufacturing leaders such as LG Energy Solution, POSCO and most recently General Motors USA.

**Your Role**

This is a complex, integrated, and incredibly interesting project and is perfect for high-calibre individual with entrepreneurial thinking & significant test work and piloting experience.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your success to contribute to this world first-class project will be based on key deliverables including:

- Managing the group’s simulated mineral processes testwork under industrial operating conditions, to provide accurate insights into how material behaves during processing and the impact on the end product.
- Plan, coordinate and manage nationally, the various testwork and piloting programs that support the delivery of the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).
- Assign resources to the testwork program and ensure that priorities are identified and met, programs run to budget and schedule, & that test programs are delivered safely and that all deliverables are produced meeting QA/QC requirements.
- Lead discussions in proactive problem solving of metallurgical solutions and provide guidance on alternative options and solutions.
- Review data results, collaborate team conclusions and complete reporting for further assessment and independent evaluation.
- Coordinating communication and work programs among the various work groups will be critical to the ongoing success of the project.

**Your background and experience**
- Tertiary Qualification in metallurgy or chemical engineerin
- Significant experience in the planning and management of laboratory testwork and piloting programs, including hands on participation.
- Solid background in developing and managing budgets and schedules.
- Comprehensive skill set in data interpretation, and the ability to draw logical conclusions and communicate results in various written formats.
- Ideally experience in complex hydrometallurgical process plant design development and/or operation.
