Our Waste Services team forms part of Sustainable Monash, providing a range of asset cleansing services, operating a highly regarded Recycling and Waste Centre and supported by a highly competent administration and customer service team. We are currently seeking an energised individual to join a dynamic and committed team within Waste Services for an exciting casual opportunity
About the Position
We are seeking Customer Service Officers to fill roles in our Recycling and Waste Centre, window operation in accordance with our roster. We pride our ourselves on our values-based culture and commitment to providing excellent waste services to our community. The Recycling and Waste Centre is open 7 days a week including public holidays (Excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday) so officers may need to work some weekends and public holidays.
Skills and Experience
Commitment to consistently delivering high-quality customer experience to the community and team members of the Council.
Prepare the window for daily operation by following start-up and closure procedures
Effective communication and ability to work in a team
Asses loads of waste to determine the appropriate charge type and amount by measuring and visually assessing the load.
Collect payment from each customer and enter the data into the point-of-sale system to record payment amounts and types of waste
**Requirements**:
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment effectively
Previous experience in a direct customer service role, including high-volume face-to-face, electronic, and telephone customer service
Previous experience in cashiering and processing of credit cards and EFTPOS payments
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships.
Commitment to contributing to safe work environment
Satisfactory National Police Check; and
Pre-employment medical examination
