The School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences offers an innovative and creative academic environment, that brings together scholars working in a diverse range of disciplines. The discipline of Media and Communication includes colleagues working in film and audience studies, strategic and public communication, media history, journalism and political communication. Our close partnerships with communities, governments, and industries ensure that our research not only influences global academic discourse, but also shapes social agendas. Our media and communications team is located in the city precinct and students/staff have access to a number of high-end production facilities - from a multicamera studio and performance spaces to animation studios and design spaces.

**Position Overview**

In this balanced academic role, you will:

- Develop and deliver innovative teaching in media and communications at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Contribute to the research agenda, maintaining a strong output of publications or creative works.
- Co-supervise PhD students
- Build industry connections to support research, knowledge exchange, work-integrated learning and graduate employment opportunities.
- Contribute to the academic community through service and leadership.

This continuing position is full time, primarily based at the City Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land), with the opportunity to undertake work at our other locations as required.

**About you**
- Some experience of media production, including the ability to use audio-visual production software
- Research specialisation in one of the following: public or strategic communication, digital storytelling, media law and ethics, environmental/science communication, media activism, or Indigenous, LGBTQIA+ or community/regional media.

**Remuneration and Benefits**

The remuneration for this position is from $112,717 - $133,853 + 17% superannuation.
