**About the opportunity**

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified para-professional to work within Blacktown City Libraries Community Learning team.

The successful applicant will:

- Have sound knowledge of information resources and collections both digital and physical
- Demonstrated digital literacy skills
- Experience in customer technology assistance
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work in a high-functioning team and possess excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.

**About Blacktown City Libraries**

We have 7 community libraries across our local government area, including Blacktown, Mount Druitt, Stanhope Gardens, Riverstone, Lalor Park, a temporary library at Marsden Park, and our mobile library service.

We offer a wide range of services to our community including but not limited to, borrowing services, a digital library, study support services, technology workshops, and multicultural, children and youth services. **Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Library Technician Diploma, Associate Diploma or equivalent, as recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
- Suitable library experience
- Demonstrated strong commitment to a customer-focused service
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and independently
- Well-developed problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated high level of skill in digital literacy
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).

**Desirable**:

- Class C driver's licence
- First aid certification
- Ability to speak a community language.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,265.47 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
