We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service.

**The Opportunity**

We currently have multiple exciting opportunities - part time permanent/ ongoing and temporary contracts (**until Feb 24)** to join the Women's and Babies team as a **Medical Consultant - Women's Anaesthesia**.
- The Staff Specialist Anaesthetist in Women’s Anaesthesia is to provide anaesthetic, acute pain and resuscitative services for the patients of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Departments.
- The appointee is responsible for the provision of high quality pre-anaesthetic patient preparation, participation in the Pre-anaesthetic Clinics, pain relief services for labouring women, anaesthesia for elective and emergency obstetrics and gynaecology surgery and post-anaesthetic care services.
- As an accredited hospital for ANZCA training, the appointee is responsible for supervising and training of anaesthetic registrars in accordance with the new ANZCA curriculum.
- The appointee is responsible for ensuring that patients are managed using evidence based best practice.
- The appointee will contribute to team work within a multidisciplinary environment for optimal clinical service outcomes.

**About You**

In this specialised role, you will have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

To be successful in this role, you will use your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.

You should have a demonstrated working experience in the field of obstetric and gynaecological anaesthesia and experience in working in a large public secondary or tertiary centre
