We have an opportunity available as a Maintenance Superintendent to support our Functional Coatings site based in Campbellfield.

Opal Functional Coatings manufactures a wide range of industry leading, innovative coated and laminated products for use in the corrugated, solid fibre cartons and flexible packaging industries.

In this role, you will ensure all site maintenance and corrective tasks are carried out to ensure reliability of plant and equipment. You will also be required to support and undertake maintenance and engineering projects to continuously improve both the capability and reliability of the business. Your primary function is to maintain machinery, equipment, and services on site to achieve optimum production and customer service.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

- Team leadership and supervision of maintenance staff
- Playing a key role within a team focused on the development and execution of efficient preventative maintenance and continuous improvement practices on the site.
- Use of trade skills to provide a quality and timely maintenance service.
- Responsible for integrity for all plant and machinery in production areas as well as rest of site.
- Management of OEM suppliers and 3rd Party Contractors
- Quality Control of suppliers, parts, installation, and maintenance
- Carry out maintenance activities to close out MEX work orders.
- Actively participate in the development, promotion, implementation and compliance to all Company’s Health Safety & Environment strategy and policies
- Provide technical support, problem solving and continuous improvement to support production and other maintenance and engineering initiatives.

- Trade Certification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering highly desirable
- Experience and understanding of electrical systems to analyse, troubleshoot and solve problems which may include but not limited to:

- pneumatics
- hydraulics
- valve control
- chiller systems
- vacuum systems
- Skills/Knowledge in JSEA, Risk Assessments, Working Permits, LOTO.
- A passion for safety, self-motivation and a can-do attitude which will lead to an outcome of reliability within plant and equipment.
- Role requires stepping in for Engineering and Maintenance Manager as the need arises.
