**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity available for an ongoing Unit Head to join the EPA in the Operations team.

The Unit Head Regulatory Operations (1 position based in Parramatta) is a management role which leads a team providing day to day frontline services using regulation, advisory and other tools to protect the environment and community in the greater Sydney area. The work includes incident response, management of compliance with regulatory instruments (licences, notices etc), providing input on planning matters, investigations and long term strategic projects addressing environmental priorities.

**About You**
- Knowledge and experience in the implementation of relevant environmental legislation,
- Experience in a relevant environmental management area e.g. catchments, industry, hazardous substances, waste, contaminated site management, planning and/or local government.
- Sound understanding of the workings of government at a state and local level.
- Experience in liaising with a range of client or stakeholder groups to deliver environmentally sustainable outcomes.
- Experience in managing staff, projects and setting priorities

**About the Team**

The Operations division is a dedicated team of environmental regulators who work to protect the environment and people from harm through regulation using a range of tools, responding to and investigating environmental incidents and complaints, and the investigation and mitigation of systemic state-wide and emerging environmental and health issues.

If you are successful in the role, you will be working in a supportive, diverse, results driven team, who work across varied geographic areas on significant environmental protection matters.
