**Teaching Focused Academic B $101,598 - $120,647 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation contribution. This is a full time position (36.75 hours per week) fixed term contract until 20/02/2025.**

**About the role**

This is a teaching role in Early Childhood Education, which includes a commitment to act as a ‘First Nations [1] ally’. As well as teaching, part of your job will be to create and maintain a relationship with Moondani Balluk, the VU Indigenous Academic unit, in particular the education academic staff, and to support the Early Childhood team as we continue to embed First Nations’ ways of knowing and being into our units. It is therefore very important that you have a demonstrated interest in Victorian Aboriginal culture and history.

**About the person**

You will have a teaching qualification in Early Childhood Education, and post graduate qualifications in Early Childhood Education or a complimentary field. You will also have a strong interest in First Nations cultures and history, and will be skilled at working with different groups of people, sharing your knowledge, and learning from others. You will be highly collaborative and creative in the ways you think about curriculum, pedagogy and knowledge. You will be caring and adaptable, and enjoy being part of a team. Through conversation with Moondani Balluk, it has been decided that it is not a pre requisite that you be Aboriginal. You need to be committed to listening, interested in building cultural understanding, and keen to work with Moondani Balluk Aboriginal scholars, and share their knowledge with others in the Early Childhood team.

**Duties**

Duties will include:

- Teaching undergraduate and graduate Early Childhood Education students
- With the guidance of scholars in Moondani Balluk, acting as an First Nations ally, and building the relationship between Moondani Balluk and Early Childhood Education
- Participating in and contributing to the work of the Early Childhood Education team
