**About the role**:
If you've got the perfect meme at the ready for every response, one eye on the latest social media trends, and the other on TikTok, you could be the one we're looking for.
Victoria Police is looking for a Social Media Advisor to join the team, sitting within the Media, Communications and Engagement Department.
This team is responsible for creating and curating content, as well as engaging with the community across the Victoria Police social media platforms.
Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements.
Please note: This position has an important role to play in emergency management and will be required to work allocated shifts outside usual business hours and across seven days.
**Your duties will include**:
- Moderating conversations and engaging with the community and other organisations using third-party and native social media tools.
- Creating strategically aligned content for Victoria Police social media channels.
- Editing footage and imagery for broader distribution.
- Providing timely assistance for livestreaming and distributing emergency or time-sensitive information.
- Advising and supporting stakeholders to deliver information consistent with the organisation's strategic direction and community expectations.
- Identifying opportunities to leverage trends strategically.
- Working with other team members to contribute to coordinated, timely communication, and responses to a range of issues.
**As the successful applicant, you will have**:
- An understanding of, and experience using, social media in a corporate or customer service setting.
- Well-developed written communication skills, and confidence liaising with staff at all levels and backgrounds.
- Exposure to basic graphic design and/or video filming or editing (experience creating upright video for Reels, TikTok or YouTube shorts will be highly regarded).
- An ability to write creatively for various social media platforms and perform under pressure.
