**POSITION TITLE**:Activities Coordinator

**COMPANY**: Mayflower Brighton Aged Care Home

**LOCATION**:Brighton East VIC 3187

**SALARY**: $70,000 P/A

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing a comprehensive program of leisure and recreational activities tailored to the needs and interests of residents. The role aims to enhance the quality of life, promote social interaction, and support the overall wellbeing of residents.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Activity Planning & Implementation:

- Design and implement a diverse range of group and individual activities that cater to the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents.
- Organize special events, outings, and celebrations in collaboration with other departments.

Resident Assessment:

- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residents to determine their recreational and leisure interests.
- Collaborate with the care team to integrate therapeutic activities into individual care plans.

Engagement & Participation:

- Encourage and motivate residents to participate in activities, ensuring they are accessible and enjoyable for all.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment where residents feel valued and engaged.

Resource Management:

- Manage and maintain activity supplies, equipment, and resources.
- Ensure the activity spaces are safe, clean, and well-organized.

Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of resident participation, feedback, and any observed changes in behavior or wellbeing.
- Provide regular updates to the care team and families on residents' engagement and progress.

Professional Development:

- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in diversional therapy.
- Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents encouraged to apply.
- Minimum Cert III in Diversional Therapy or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Activities Coordinator.
- Experience working with older adults in a recreational or therapeutic setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creativity and adaptability in activity planning.
- Empathy and understanding of the unique needs of older adults.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
