**Where you'll be working**

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

**What you'll be doing**

The duties of this position involve assisting, and acting on behalf of, the Director of Medical Services (DMS) in planning, coordination and effective implementation of multiscale processes. The position is also responsible for all administrative assistance to the Director of Medical Services, Northern lllawarra Hospital Group and assists in the development and implementation of procedures, standards and practices across the lllawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. The position holder should be capable of working autonomously with the ability to prioritise and work harmoniously and collaboratively with peers and the extended Executive team.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with mínimal supervision and exercise own initiative.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to work within competing demands and priorities.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to work successfully with staff at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking for problem-solving.
- Demonstrated competency and accuracy in the use of Microsoft Office suite, Trim, HealthRoster, and other in-house systems, with the ability to learn new programs readily.
- Highly developed negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience preparing Business meeting papers, minute taking and correspondence accurately and clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service.
