**The Role**:

The Business Support Officer is responsible to the Manager, Strategic Coordination and Business Operations to deliver a comprehensive range of timely, confidential, effective and efficient administrative support, correspondence and records management services that support the work of the Office of the Chief Executive and the Operations Directorate.

This role will be required to work across all staff and senior management of DTI, including Ministerial Office staff.

The Business Support Officer will triage and assist in the coordination and quality assurance of all Ministerial and departmental briefings and other correspondence, in addition to ensuring effective internal and external customer relationships are developed and maintained to ensure a high level of service.

To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate capabilities across the following key areas:

- An understanding of business management functions within a government or large corporate environment
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and quality approaches to administrative and records management functions
- An ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
- A proven ability to prioritise tasks
- Proven experience in the provision of quality client centred service
- Significant experience in the proficient use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

- Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
