Specifically, this position will manage a caseload of foster carers, some of whom will be caring for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children. There will be a strong focus on supporting non-Indigenous foster carers and staff to better understand the needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children in care and to respond in a holistic way that considers family, spiritual, community and individual needs. The role will work in close partnership with our Child Safety service centres and the foster carers to achieve the elements of the young person’s cultural plans.

It is a genuine occupational requirement of this role to identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, under S25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld)

This is a** Full-Time position working** - **76 hours per/fortnight **based at our **Caboolture** office.

**About the Role**
- Evaluate the strengths and potential risks in care placements, empowering Foster and Kinship Carers with the essential skills to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to craft and execute bespoke therapeutic interventions for individuals and carers, considering the unique needs across developmental phases from infancy to 17 years.
- Promote the culturally appropriate care of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children who are not in the care of their family/ local community

**About You**
- Experience in engaging with carers through training, recruitment, and support processes.
- You have demonstrated ability in assessing complex situations, crafting personalized care strategies, and offering direct in-home support.
- You possess a thorough understanding of child protection laws and practices.
- Your skill set includes the ability to deliver training and lead support groups effectively.
- You are adept at working within child-centric and family-oriented frameworks.
- You have a track record of managing detailed documentation efficiently.

Required Qualifications and Credentials
- It is a genuine occupational requirement of this role to identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, under S25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld)
- You hold a tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences, or a related discipline.
- You either hold or are willing to obtain a Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) certification, and a Queensland Driver's License.
