The Graduate School of Medicine (GSM) aims to graduate excellent medical practitioners with a commitment to patient-centred, evidence-based, reflective and cost-effective medical practice, who have the capacity and desire to contribute to the enhancement of health care for persons in all geographic settings but particularly in regional, rural and remote communities. Closing the gap on Indigenous health and social outcomes is a priority and the GSM aims to produce culturally safe medical practitioners. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is delivered primarily on two campuses located in Wollongong and Shoalhaven, as well as in numerous rural sites throughout NSW including the Southern Highlands.
We are seeking an experienced Administration Assistant to provide high-level executive support to the Dean, Graduate School of Medicine (GSM). The position requires a high degree of diplomacy, professionalism, efficiency and flexibility. Key administrative responsibilities include diary management and travel for both the Dean and Deputy Dean GSM, meeting scheduling and committee support, event coordination, monitoring executive approvals, compiling and drafting correspondence and documents, and liaising and communicating with individuals and parties internal and external to the University. High level administrative support across other aspects of the GSM operations is also part of the position.
Your strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship skills combined with your proactive approach to resolving challenges and previous experience across a range of administration and committee coordination tasks will be key to your success in this role.
You may be required to work outside of standard business hours or across other MD training sites from time to time.
As this position will be required to attend Public Health Facilities the holder of this position is required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Evidence of vaccination is required unless evidence of a medical contraindication to be vaccinated against COVID-19 is presented. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Proof of vaccination if available.
