About You

The Manager, GRC is responsible for global identification, tracking and reporting of risks and audit issues which may impact on the availability of RMIT services. The role provides specialists, outcome-focused risk/control advise and contributes to the attainment of business strategy and objectives.

The Manager, GRC collaborates with ITS’ leadership team, internal and external audit & Risk Management group and other relevant regulatory bodies in matters of IT risks and audit findings. The role extends across 1st Line and 2nd Line of RMIT’s Risk Management structure and is an influencer across business risks decisions.

The position is expected to deliver well informed business insights into emerging risk and lessons learnt from internal and external case studies of incidents, near misses or risk and compliance strategies being implemented.

The role leads and provides guidance across all matters of IT Governance, Risk & Compliance Management and works closely with relevant management/ operational teams to minimise the level of potential exposure to RMIT.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

- Extensive experience in the development, delivery and monitoring of large-scale IT Risk Management practices.
- Proven comprehensive knowledge of IT, Cyber Security, Cloud and Risk Management practice, including Enterprise Risk Management.
- Exceptional leadership ability, teamwork and collaboration expertise. Outstanding capacity to act as a persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the Leadership Management team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and delivery a quality service.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients, in order to proactively identify and solve issues.

- Ensures the IT infrastructure and information management services and systems enhance the performance of the University’s core functions.
- Facilitates effective use of information technology in teaching and learning, research & development, administrative and commercial activities.
- Develops and implements efficient and effective IT management practices.
