**Position Information**:

**About the Role**

To be successful in the role you will need to have good understanding for and experience with husbandry and farming operations, along with good planning, prioritising and communication skills to work effectively as an individual within a small farming team.

You will perform a range of husbandry and farming tasks associated with the operation of a large multi enterprise NSW State government school farm. The role assists with care and management of livestock, operating & maintaining farm machinery equipment and tools, assistance with crop production, receipt, storage and disposal of supplies, and general farm maintenance.

**About the NSW Department of Education**

**Additional Information**
Hurlstone Agricultural High School (HAHS) is the only NSW government coeducational selective agricultural high school with boarding facility and large school farm. There are 967 students enrolled, with a boarding facility able to accommodate at least 180 students, and a large multi-enterprise farm. HAHS is currently situated within 159 hectares, sharing the educational land with four other departmental entities. Most of the land is used for farming. It is five minutes from the M5 entry/exit and 250m adjacent the Glenfield train station. It borders the Hume Highway M5 on the western side, residential homes on the north farm boundary, and adjoins the NSW Transport boundary on the eastern and southern sides. Both the boarder accommodation and farm are being upgraded and planned to be commissioned mid to late 2024.
