We are seeking a Civil Maintenance - Multi Skilled Labourers to join our Civil Maintenance Group within our Customer Delivery Division

Remuneration & Hours:

- 38 hour working week

- Annualised wage rate of $72,718 plus Superannuation
- Automatic rate increment to $75,535 following successful completion of probation and training competencies
- Access to additional earning potential through undertaking relief in higher positions in the Civil crew structure, completing on call rosters which attract standby and associated overtime and overtime associated with undertaking planned night works, weekend work and emergency call outs

***The Opportunity**

As the Civil Maintenance - Multi Skilled Labourers you will be responsible for performing general labouring work and relief as required associated with the operation, maintenance, and construction of the water supply, wastewater and stormwater drainage systems.

This position also requires all incumbents to be willing and able to undertake relief roles in the civil maintenance on call roster and be located within 1 hour of a Hunter Water depot for the purpose of operational call out requirements.

**What you'll do**:

- Perform general labouring work as required associated with the operations, maintenance and construction of Hunter Water’s water, wastewater and stormwater systems. These duties include, but not limited to, water main repairs, sewer main repairs, jetting of sewer mains, maintenance of the Chichester Trunk Gravity Main, traffic control, and water service repairs.
- Climb and/or enter elevated tanks, reservoirs, wastewater access holes and wastewater pump station wells as and when required.
- Adhere to all WHS regulations and participate in risk assessments for every task.
- Undertake activities in such a manner to ensure protection of the environment and compliance with the Corporation’s due diligence requirements
- Operation of the Corporation’s motor vehicles, heavy vehicles and other machinery as required.

**What you'll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Construction Induction card
- Class C drivers’ licence
- Proven capacity to work manually for an extended period including activities such as hand digging, lifting etc.
- Proven ability to work effectively within small teams
- High level of personal work ethic and commitment to safe working practices
- Traffic Control - Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans
- Confined Space Entry
- Safe Work Near Overhead Powerlines
- First Aid/CPR
- Work Safely at Heights
- High Pressure Sewer Jetting
- Forklift ticket
- VOC Front end loader, Backhoe and Excavator

***Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience operating an excavator or truck
- Experience with tools or machinery
- Experience working around water and waste water infrastructure in a construction or maintenance environment or other relevant construction and/or maintenance industry experience
- Experience in water main and sewer main repairs, jetting procedures, valve installations, plant and truck operations, water service repairs or similar.
