**The opportunity**

Case management requires well-coordinated and effective interdisciplinary efforts if the client’s needs are to be served. Interpersonal relationships must be characterised by a spirit of respect and caring that is critical to the social worker-client relationship. Moreover, the respectful treatment of colleagues is a prerequisite for effective communication and cooperation among professionals from different disciplines.

Berry Street’s out-of-home care service is responsive to the specific needs of children and young people who are at risk or who have experienced the trauma of family violence, child abuse or neglect. Berry Street has a pool of suitably trained and assessed foster carers who will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people placed in care.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Providing case management of children and young people in accordance with Children’s Court directions.
- Assisting children, young people and their families to minimise risk and gain stability in their lives.
- Enabling the maintenance of the child or young person with their family, extended family and other support networks.
- Developing effective relationships within the community and key stakeholders.

**Your Skills and Experience**
- Bachelor qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline is essential.
- Postgraduate training is preferred.
- Case Management experience within the sector.
- A sound knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2006.
- Strong leadership qualities, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and a passion for making a positive contribution to young people and their families.
