**The Organisation**:
A leading Queensland government department is currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer, Sourcing (A06). You will be working for an organisation where you will be working in a small and close-knit team environment. You will be reporting to a Manager who has extensive experience and a good understanding of the Queensland State Government procurement policies and framework. You will **not be working excessive hours.** This role is initially a temporary position for 6 months and has the potential to be extended.
**The Position**:
This role will require you to take ownership of the procurement and sourcing function. You will be responsible for:
- Working with key preferred suppliers to procure equipment, goods and services s
- Communicating directly with suppliers
- Documentation management to ensure an effective compliance trail
- Managing purchase order requisitions
As this is a small team, you must have a passion for supporting your colleagues, whilst knowing you will be supported in return.

To truly succeed in this varied role, you will be able to demonstrate true competencies in the following areas:
- Experience working for the Queensland State Government with an understanding of the procurement policies and processes will provide you with a hugely competitive advantage.
- An ability to read, review and interpret supplier contracts
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills coupled with exceptional communication skills
- A good understanding of the procurement function
- Good resilience as you will be interfacing with many different stakeholders and building and nurturing strong relationships
- Experience using SAP will be helpful
