**Overview**
- As Morrison & Co continues to grow and expand internationally, it will be critical to maintain the smooth delivery of the end-to-end payroll function across the international jurisdictions in which we operate. We are committed to the seamless delivery of payroll services to our local and ex-pat employees around the globe and to provide friendly support and professional advice relating to entitlements, superannuation, leave and benefits.
- This role sits within a small HR/Payroll team which is responsible for delivering HR and Payroll services to all Morrison & Co employees and contractors.
- Reporting to the Remuneration and Benefits Manager, the Payroll Manager is responsible for the smooth day to day processing of multiple Morrison & Co payrolls in our global jurisdictions, ensuring our employees are paid in line with their respective terms and conditions and legislative requirements.

The role requires a strong customer service ethic and effective forward planning to balance the meeting of deadlines with maintaining a high standard of service.

**Primary Role Description**
- Full monthly and fortnightly end to end payroll processing across six different jurisdictions for 180+ employees, most of whom are salaried
- Ensure employees are paid on time and in accordance with their employment agreements, internal and external compliance requirements, Group policies and legal obligations
- Maintain full payroll administration, including new employees, leavers, attendance records, timesheets, employee files, holiday and sickness records, bonus payments, salary reviews, student loans, superannuation payments
- Liaise with external payroll providers and banking partners to ensure the smooth delivery of payroll services supporting the respective payroll cycles
- Monitor the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers (including international assignments), promotions and terminations
- Management of Long Service Leave employee entitlements in accordance with Group policy and relevant legislation
- Preparation of reporting and analysis for inclusion in management reporting
- Work with the Head of Human Resources (HR) and Remuneration and Benefits Manager to deliver the annual Morrison & Co Remuneration and Performance cycle. Assist with the preparation of reports, and data to enable informed decision making by leaders
- Provide professional and expert advice to managers and employees on payroll and leave issues
- Assist the Finance team with payroll data for their Year End reporting obligations and processes
- Maintain a contemporary knowledge of local and international employment law with regards to remuneration, taxation, superannuation and current market practices to ensure adherence to best practice - proactively sharing advice and knowledge to management, HR team and employees
- Provide assistance to external auditors when required
- Ensure adherence to risk management and business continuity strategies
- Support effective relationships with outsourced providers and vendors to ensure they meet Morrison & Co’s requirements
- Review current processes and procedures with a view to driving change and improvements, aligning to best practice
- Key member of HR team for the review, design, and implementation of a new global Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for Morrison & Co
- Work with the Head of HR and Remuneration and Benefits Manager to research, develop, deliver, monitor, and review recommendations and solutions covering multiple areas of HR to meet business needs and in compliance with statutory requirements
- Assist and guide managers and employees, using technical and professional skills/knowledge, on a broad range of HR operations and general HR policies, programs, and practices.

**Essential Attributes**
- Several years of proven experience as a Payroll Manager, managing the processing of fortnightly and monthly pays including multiple pay runs
- A track record of effectiveness, and experience of delivering a high-quality customer service
- Experience of working with external payroll providers
- Experience with international payroll management (preferably NZ, Australia, USA, UK, Europe, and Asia)
- Practical knowledge of payroll laws and regulations preferable in the NZ, Australia, UK, US Payroll environment
- Ability to provide quality and timely payroll advice to key organisational leaders
- Precise attention to detail
- Proactive, motivated and driven to achieve
- A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be seen as a team player
- Strong organisation/time management skills
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills and proficient in the use of MS Outlook and Word, together with a working knowledge of at least one HRIS
