Head of Sales, Travel

**Role Purpose**:
Head of Travel is a key senior leadership role within the Sales and Distribution function. The role is responsible for the management of the B2B2C Complimentary and Retail Travel lines of business for Allianz Partners Australia. Reporting into the Chief Sales Officer, the role focuses on consistently meeting and exceeding budgeted sales targets, client retention, new client referrals, profit improvement, client cross-sell and up-sell and growth initiatives above organic growth for all clients, across all distribution markets.
Leading a team of dedicated Strategic Account Managers, you are a commercially driven leader responsible for the development of a productive and sales driven team environment while fostering commitment to the Allianz People Attributes. Part of this role will include enhancing staff engagement and retention while empowering and developing people to deliver exceptional partner experiences every day while meeting revenue and profit targets.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Financial Responsibilities**
- Management, allocation and monitoring of travel sales budgets per Strategic Account Manager
- Expense budget management and setting
- Price rise management per client
- Sales vs Budget management
- Sales and profit rectification plans vs budget
- Sales YTD forecasting and future analysis against budget
- Profit targets and management of team’s tasks to improve profit by client
- Optimisation and conversion increase per partner
- Ensures new business opportunities are recorded in SalesForce and following pipeline

- Analyses mistakes and conducts research to identify root causes of complex problems and implements appropriate solutions
- Demonstrates courage in decision making, tackling tough issues
- Seeks out opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the business and makes difficult decisions when people, businesses or initiatives are underperforming
- Enhances the business for significantly improved results
**Leadership and Supervision**
- Leads team to exceed Sales targets
- Holds team accountable for meeting goals within defined limits
- Has a clear view of how the different capabilities of team members work together and leverages them to contribute to overall team development
- Leads a high performing team and culture that celebrates success
- Ensure staff learning and development requirements are met in line with operational and human resource strategy
**Sales and Client Management**
- Develop a sustainable sales and growth strategy to meet revenue, profit and strategic business requirements
- Engage in leading edge partnerships to grow Allianz Partners profitable market share
- through the strategic development of the International Health product and service offering
- Maximise revenue and operating profit for each client
- Oversee the development and implementation of detailed client planning processes
- Enable effective and sustainable cross sell opportunities for B2B2C Travel Sales
**Entrepreneurial Orientation & Market Intelligence**
- Knows market fundamentals and integrates into regular work activity
- Aware of key profit and cost drivers for Travel line of business and how they contribute to profitable growth.
You will have a strong background in a Sales or Account/ Relationship Management role within a large commercial environment working towards set KPI's and targets.
Other skills and experience will include:
- Management experience leading teams and presenting to Leadership Committee
- Proven ability to meet and/or exceed KPIs and extensive sales/revenue targets within a business development role
- End to end development of client relationships from first contact to contract and ongoing management including identifying and successfully on-boarding additional revenue streams
- Have the ability to proactively identify potential problems and provide suitable solutions
- Exceptional skills in the development and delivery of presentations
- Excellent with prioritising and managing time
- Ability to work towards tough deadlines and work under pressure
- Experience with managing project and tenders will be highly regarded
- Strong communication, organisation and negotiation skills
- Resilience and a can-do attitude
