The Estate Management (EM) function provides a range of services and advice to all Faculties and Divisions on physical estate matters. It does this by providing campus planning, infrastructure planning, development, construction, refurbishment, maintenance, security and environmental management. It also provides a wide range of logistic and associated services to ensure safe and secure campuses environments.

**Why Your Role Matters**:
We are seeking an Emergency Manager, who will be responsible for overseeing the emergency management arrangements across all UNSW sites.

As the Emergency Manager, you will drive a culture of safety and develop and implement policies, plans and procedures to govern our emergency management arrangements and ensure they are reflective of current standards and regulations. This will include facilitating regular training exercises with senior management as part of the Major Incident Response Teams (MIRT) to enhance our capabilities in responding effectively to incidents. You will report to the Director, Security & Traffic and have two direct reports.

**Responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Lead and coordinate emergency response to incidents across campus
- Proactively develop and maintain Emergency Management policies, plans and procedures to govern emergency management arrangements for all UNSW sites
- Chair the UNSW Emergency Planning Committee and manage stakeholder relationships with NSW Emergency Services
- Induct and train new members to the Major Incident Response Team to ensure they are prepared to respond and understand their roles and responsibilities in the event of a major incident
- Provide after-hours support on the rotating ‘on call’ roster and as part of the major incident response team.

**Who You Are**:

- A tertiary qualification in Emergency Management with demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in managing emergency management arrangements for a large complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in responding to and coordinating emergency incidents across a large complex site.
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop and deliver emergency management training and facilitation of exercises with senior management.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of emergency management policies, plans and Procedures with high attention to detail and advanced written and verbal communication skills
- The position holder must hold a Cert IV in Training & Assessment (TAE 40116). A NSW Security Licence Class is desirable but not essential.
