**The opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity to Lead the NSW Environmental Protection Authority’s Data, Intelligence and Insights branch. The role leads a diverse team providing high-quality data, intelligence and insights as well as spatial mapping services that informs the EPA’s regulatory strategy, policy, and supports state-wide compliance and prevention operations.

**About you**

Apart from meeting the Focus Capabilities required for this role, you should be an inspirational and effective leader who is outcomes-focused and ideally a passionate advocate for the environment. You will be focused on delivering results and capable of undertaking critical analysis, weigh up alternatives and identify the most effective solutions working collaboratively with others.

You are also able to take into account the wider business and community contexts when considering options and explore a range of possibilities and creative alternatives. You are tuned to continually improving systems, processes and approaches to deliver better service for the customers you serve.

Last but not least, you recognise the importance of our people, have excellent communication skills and the ability to network and build relationships within the EPA and externally.

**About the team/branch**

The EPA Data Intelligence & Insights Branch has as its purpose informing decision-making on policy, programs and operations through the delivery of intelligence, waste insights and spatial information and delivery of advice based on data.
It is composed of 4 teams namely Intelligence and Analysis team, Spatial Insights and Design team, Waste Insights team and Data team.
