**The Role**
The Contracting Manager reports to the Director Logistics Operations (J43) and will provide direction, analysis and approval on Operational Contracting matters across a variety of Operations, Actions and Activities (OAA); and exercises. They are accountable to perform complex contract management work within an integrated workforce across the domestic and global regions in support of Operations and exercises.

You will be required to exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy, commercial, contracting and procurement advice to key stakeholders and planning groups. Additionally, you will lead the development of Approach to Market documentation, conduct of procurement including evaluation, negotiation and probity support as well as commercial support and training.

You will be responsible for developing and managing a high performing team as well as developing and fostering productive relationships. Communicating with influence and driving for commercial outcomes that comply with Commonwealth Government legislation and policy requirements. The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
