About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an exciting new opportunity as a CSI-IPT DDG Production Coordinator within our Maritime CS and System Integration LOB.
This role is within the CSI-IPT (Combat System Integrator - Integrated Project Team) for the DDG (Hobart Class Destroyer) Combat System upgrade.
The CSI-IPT will grow to around 250-300 engineering focused members who work directly with the CoA MIWS (Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems) branch for design and delivery of all CS upgrade and sustainment work packages for the major surface combatants of the RAN, currently being the HCF and DDG.
The first contracted scope is for the upgrade of the DDG Aegis Combat System to the latest Baseline 9 inclusive of integration of the Saab Australian Interface, with later planned scope to include the integration of Tomahawk cruise missile and NSM strike missile capability, enhanced Communications and Electronic Warfare systems.
The CSI-IPT DDG Production Coordinator is an engineering liaison role responsible for planning, overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day Combat System Installation and Test activities within the shipyard together with the production workforce.
This position is responsible for ensuring that Combat System Elements required for Installation and Testing are available for Production and that the installation progresses efficiently, meets quality standards, and adhere to project timelines.
The Production Coordinator collaborates closely with various Shipyard Stakeholders (the Platform Installer, Platform System Designer, Naval Construction Branch and Capability Enhancement Integration Project) to support activity integration, optimise workflows and facilitate effective communication throughout the entire DDG Upgrade.

About the JOB

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Collaborate with Shipyard Stakeholders to establish production timelines and milestones
- Develop and report on key items supporting the successful delivery of data and materiel into the shipyard to achieve key Combat System integration and test milestones
- Review Combat System Installation Procedures and policies to ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational objectives
- Coordinate and monitor required outcomes ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to address challenges and ensure smooth project execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and improve procedures and processes for efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments related to Combat System installation and testing activities and propose strategies to mitigate identified risks

About YOU
- Post graduate qualification in Project Management or proven capabilities in program management
- Experience in shipyard production coordination / operation
- Knowledge of shipbuilding processes, materials, and regulations
- Experience in analysing and optimising production workflows to improve efficiency and resource utilisation
- Previous experience monitoring and enforcing project schedules to ensure timely completion of shipyard milestones
- Experience with motivating teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, unexpected challenges, and dynamic shipyard environments
- Ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to achieve common goals and objectives
- Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and resolve conflicts
- NV1 Defence Clearance required
