It’s an exciting time for tennis in Victoria and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. We are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of making it more accessible, to more people, more often. To help us achieve our plan we are looking for a Head of Business & Policy to join our team at Tennis Victoria, on a 6-month maximum term contract.

About the role

The Head of Business and Policy will be a member of the Tennis Victoria (TV) executive leadership team and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation is operating to the highest levels of compliance and in accordance with all relevant Tennis Victoria and Tennis Australia (TA) policies and procedures. You will be required to lead on Governance (including company secretary) Integrity, Finance and Risk.

Reporting to the CEO, in this role you will:

- Be the State lead on all matters concerning Member and Player integrity, behaviour and compliance.
- Work with the CEO and TA Finance Team to manage and oversee TV’s finance, accounting and budget processes.
- Maintain statutory records and registers as well as complete and lodge statutory forms/returns under AIRA and relevant legislation.
- Ensure all Rules, Regulations and relevant Codes of Conduct are appropriately aligned with national policies and sporting best practice.
- Lead TV’s activities in the area of Child Safeguarding, ensuring TV takes a lead role in assisting members to implement the Child Safe Standards.
- Coordinate board meetings, set agendas, circulate papers, and take minutes.

About you

What you will bring to the role:

- A tertiary degree in Business, Finance, Law or similar (desirable)
- Willing to be flexible in regard to working hours, i.e. attend and present at forums, workshops etc.
- Being able to remain calm under pressure and exhibit strong self-awareness to work in a challenging and changing environment.
- The ability to take initiative, work creatively, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Alignment with the Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration and Imagination
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
