Principal Investigations Officer

Key Responsibilities
- Utilising extensive high level investigation skills and experience, undertake complex investigations relating to allegations of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation, or the appropriateness and adequacy of decision making arrangements of adults with impaired decision making capacity, under relevant legislation and in line with relevant policies, practices and procedures.
**This may include**:
- Providing advice to attorneys, administrators and other informal decision makers regarding their responsibilities in making decision for adults with impaired decision making capacity,
- Negotiating on sensitive investigation related issues, including matters with high levels of conflict, with interested parties and stakeholders to reach informal and formal outcomes.
- Appear before Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal or other relevant tribunals/courts as required.
- Prepare and review investigations reports and recommendations, including to take protective actions, ensuring all actions are in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and practice.
- Provide high level operational advice and assistance to the Team Leader Investigations on the delivery of investigation services that is client centred, timely and responsive.
- Utilising demonstrated high level investigation and coaching skills provide mentoring, support and supervision to investigators to ensure effective performance of their statutory role and functions, including exercise of statutory powers.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, contribute to a multi-disciplinary workplace and actively lead team planning and performance improvement processes.
- Actively engage, build rapport and foster collaborative relationships with relevant internal/external stakeholders to promote the effective performance of the investigations function.
- Assist the Team Leader investigations with the development and delivery of continuous improvement and professional development activities to ensure best practice human services investigation practices.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
