Our client is seeking to engage an EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation on a contract.
**Location**: Canberra, ACT
**Contract Length**: 12 months
**Rate**:$602.55/ Daily (excluding super)
**Eligibility Requirement**:Australian Citizenship**

**About the Role**

The EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation will support the delivery of an internal service that conducts research and evaluation using a range of methods to inform Agency decisions.The EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation will manage an implementation and effectiveness evaluation of a pre-emptive pilot program for infants showing early behavioural signs of autism in Western Australia (the Inklings Pilot). It will provide detailed technical, professional, policy and operational management of the program.
**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Working with external and internal stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation.
- Collecting and analysing a range of quantitative, qualitative and survey data, including coordinating other members of the Research and Evaluation Branch on such activities.
- Ensuring the evaluation is conducted in accordance with appropriate guidelines, standard operating procedures, NDIS standards and ethics requirements, and maintaining project related records.
- Preparing and presenting reports and slide-pack summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with other teams in the Research and Evaluation Branch, as required.
- Designing and conducting other research projects, including working with people with various types of disabilities and from various cultural backgrounds.
- Communicate and support the implementation of research findings.

**Key skills required for role**:

- Experience in using a range of sophisticated methods including quantitative and qualitative methods and embedding the participant at the heart of the work.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external and internal stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience delivering end to end formative and impact evaluations which have informed change.

**Desirable skills to have for the role**:

- Either an academic or evaluation qualifications.
- Experience designing evaluations and producing evaluation logics that reflect the stakeholders/Agency’s needs.
