We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications specialist to join the Swinburne Innovation Studio.

We are seeking a Marketing and Communications specialist to lead and coordinate the communications and marketing activities, with a focus on two key areas: creation of content that elevates the profile of the Innovation Studio to the Swinburne community and startup ecosystem, and the production and delivery of events - both traditional and through new channels - that help to build the Innovation Studio’s reputation.

Swinburne Innovation Studio has an ambitious communications and outreach strategy to engage with Swinburne staff and students, external industry and community collaborators and our partner start-up companies.

**About You**
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- Promotion and coordination of events - both traditional and through new channels such as social media.
- Assist with the promotion of the Innovation Studio’s profile, seeking and identifying opportunities for promotion through internal and external media opportunities. This involves actively identifying opportunities with potential to raise the profile of the Innovation Studio’s staff and its activities.
- Develop a social media strategy working with Swinburne Media to ensure compliance.
- Plan and implement the social media strategy, moving from an event based approached to an “always on” narrative of all the work that is done across the Innovation Studio and Commercial Innovation team.
- Monitor key metrics of engagement through website traffic, social media engagement, event registration and attendance and participant feedback.
- Develop, maintain and implement communications plans for the Innovation Studio, based on the Swinburne Research Communications Strategy and aligned with Swinburne’s external and internal communications strategies.
- Knowledge of the startup ecosystem and a love of innovation is not required but desirable.

**Qualifications**
- A bachelor degree in marketing or related discipline with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience industry experience in marketing and communications.
