Our client owns and operates one of Australia’s key pieces of infrastructure. They deliver a world-class experience to their customers and are a fundamental part of Sydney’s transport network.

**The Role**

The purpose of the position of Retail Design manager is to manage the delivery of individual retail tenancy designs. This role will cover the design of individual shops as well as their relationship to each other and the overall look and feel of individual precincts.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Primarily the role will provide design, design management and support throughout the project life cycle of retail design projects
- Contribute design ideas, inspiration and information to external designers & tenants, influencing great design outcomes
- Support tenants and drive consultants, stakeholders and project teams in establishing design outcomes, driving design excellence and ensuring time & quality design management controls are undertaken
- Follow design approval process within established programs
- Providing tenancy updates, reporting & presentations
- Develop and update retail design guidelines for the design and fitout of tenancies to reflect the design vision.
- Work closely & communicate design status to leasing, tenancy Co-ordinators and any other relevant stakeholders who are critical to the design and delivery of the retail store.

**Ideal Experience**
- Relevant tertiary education in Interior Design or Architectural design or related degree. In lieu of degree, minimum 6 years’ experience in related roles.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role focusing on Interior and/or Retail Design Management for retail tenancy approvals, preferably with a shopping Centre owner and corporate property owner or agency
- Airport or major civic experience preferred
- Airport Retail experience, preferably international airport (Desired)
- Shopping Centre experience (required)
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing internal and external stakeholders

**Capabilities/behaviours**
- Strong concept design skills through hand-drawn, CAD design or 3D modelling software
- Capability to managing multiple projects and prioritise workload
- Adobe Creative Cloud experience - advanced skills in Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Exceptional relationship building and communication skills with the ability to influence internal & external stakeholders, drive engagement and articulate complex concepts whilst presenting compelling arguments.
- Ability to proactively and autonomously lead and drive initiatives & improvements for a better customer or stakeholder experience
