**The Team**
The Indigo Program is a once in a generation modernisation program to improve the delivery of election and roll management services. The Indigo Program Office (IPO) has a focus on core program management elements of the Indigo Program, including building strong assurance, risk management, benefits management, and governance capabilities. This role will contribute to a broad program that will position the agency to handle a significant uplift in their service delivery.
**The Opportunity**
The Assistant Director IPO will undertake a range of activities to support the effective and efficient management of the Indigo Program.
Providing high level support to the Assistant Commissioners (ACs) and Director, Indigo Program Office, including preparing and reviewing high-level documentation and correspondence, managing complex scheduling requirements, and coordinating workflows.
The role will work closely with the Indigo and Organisational Transformation Group leadership teams to ensure that actions are followed up and completed on time. This role will also involve managing strategic activities for the Indigo Program.
To excel you’ll have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with team members, business areas and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- Ability to carefully follow established processes and procedures, excellent attention to detail, and strong quality assurance skills, including writing, editing, proof reading.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with the strategic skills to drive positive influence, and lead a small team to achieve considered outcomes.
- Experience effectively managing competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving planning and project outcomes in line with agency goals and objectives.
- Proven ability to make sensitive and complex decisions using professional judgement within legislative and budget parameters.
- A drive for continuous improvement and demonstrated resilience including the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Strong understanding of project, program or portfolio management principles and experience delivering related services to an organisation.
Desirable:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field.

- Any person who is, and seen to be active in political affairs, and intends to publicly carry on this activity, may compromise the strict neutrality of the AEC and cannot be considered.
