**The Role**

As Service Desk Manager, your duties will involve overseeing systems management, incident management as well as infrastructure monitoring and administration. You will also serve as an escalation point for the service desk, including: desktop, network & server support. Additionally, you will assist in designing, implementing and maintaining group-wide server and network implementations.

**Core duties**
- Act as a first point of contact for internal customers
- Assist the IT Manager by providing advice and helping produce technical reports, specifications and trend analysis
- Look for ways to improve internal processes and policies
- Nurture and develop the team - providing feedback, creating career plans and managing their overall performance.
- Lead the Change, Incident and Problem Management process
- Monitor the performance of infrastructure & systems and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Systems administration by supporting the availability of key national and international business systems; performance, security & data integrity.
- Assist the IT Manager in ensuring the Technology division maintains a low risk profile and a secure IT environment
- Participate in after hours and weekend work when required. Also some interstate travel might be occasionally required

**Experience required**:

- 4+ years in a Service Desk role and with at least 1 year in management.
- Experience in mid - large enterprise with a capability to work in a complex, high performing, global environment.
- A broad understanding of laptops, workstations, server and network operations.
- System Administration and desktop support
- Proven hands-on experience working on a range of small to large scale projects
- Cloud technology knowledge (AWS or Azure)
- Windows Server System Administration (minimum of Windows Server 2008 R2 / Windows Server 2016)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and in an autonomous fashion.
