It is a contract job for 6 months with a view for another 12 months extension. Reporting to the Project Manager - you will be responsible for developing valid and accurate bid and project schedules using primavera software. The job offers excellent daily/hourly rates.

**Other roles and responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Liaise with Project Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors, Subcontractors, and the Bids and Estimating team to
- Liaise with the Bid & Estimating team and all relevant key stakeholders to develop project schedules in support of tender submissions.
- Advise the Project Manager of scheduling/production issues that might impact on key schedule dates.
- Highlight areas of schedule and cost concern and identify potential actions for improving performance.
- Ensure data transfer, data coordination between various program management software systems to ensure capture of accurate performance data.
- Reconcile performance data generated from the systems with real project performance through communication with members of the project team.
- Prepare and maintain Contract / Task Change proposals (CCP/TCP) and other relevant information in special databases (e.g. Trident, IPESA).
- Integrate scope variations via CCP/TCPs into existing project schedules including analysis of any impact to the existing program.
- Prepare regular reports and charts on project schedule progress and project performance in Hours / Cost (Project S-curve, Project cost sell metrics, Project Labour Curve etc.)
- Carry out analysis of project schedule and cost performance.
- Assist the Project Manager through resource levelling and other appropriate suitable techniques to identify suitable project execution strategies to reduce execution costs and improve schedule performance.
- Perform planning support functions including project structure (WBS, WP) creation with relevant documentation in Primavera.
- Maintain and update cost status of WPs in the ERP in liaison with the Finance team.
- Assist in ensuring a harmonious work environment in all departments that you are working with by upholding five key values and behaviours aligned to the Leadership Model.

**To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience**:

- Formal qualification in Engineering, Project Management or Project Planning/Control, suitable trade or engineering training and experience or extensive industry experience in related field.
- Experience in Ship Building / Ship Repair or similar heavy engineering industry and/or civil engineering field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS office suite programs.
- Demonstrated Analytical skills and Problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and collaborative working style.
- A high degree of attention to detail.
- Must be an Australian citizen for security clearance purposes, with a baseline security clerance.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
- Asset knowledge of Naval marine systems.
