**The Role**
An APS5 Administration Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce, including having and maintaining a well-developed understanding and compliance of relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. APS5 Administration Officers will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility, including interpreting and providing advice within the administration function based on legislation, policy and procedures.
**About our Team**
The position is in the Directorate of Navy Strategic Plans and Preparedness, which is responsible to the Deputy Chief of Navy. The Directorate, and your role, is involved with processes and products as diverse as the Defence Strategic Review implementation, classified Defence Planning Guidance, Force Structure Reviews, Strategic Risk Reviews, simulation and experimentation. The Directorate also leads Navy's preparedness management and Navy input to Defence mobilisation strategy and concepts. It is a small team with an interesting remit that requires active stakeholder engagement that you will contribute to through close management of the Director General’s busy schedule.
