**About the Role**

The purpose of this role is to influence governments at all levels and to build public support for meaningful policy change. The role takes day-to-day responsibility for developing and executing CCIWA’s communications strategies, government relations strategy and for determining broader engagement with WA businesses and communities across the State.

This is a
**full-time, permanent** position that will be based in the Perth CBD office.

**About You**

We are seeking an individual with experience in media and government relations who can build effective relationships across government and media stakeholders. You will be able to deliver strong written and verbal advice in relation to media and government relations and provide high quality insights to the CEO, Director of Policy & Campaigns and the broader Leadership team on campaign strategy.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Lead the development of strategic communications campaigns
- Develop responses to media enquiries and maintain relationships with all relevant outlets, producers and journalists
- Develop and distribute proactive content for external media outlets and social media platforms
- Prepare speeches for the CEO
- Be responsible for reporting on CCIWA’s earned media and social media channels
- Contribute or repurpose CCIWA content for multiple mediums
- Develop and implement CCIWA’s government relations and stakeholder strategy
- Support business unit planning in respect of strategic planning

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will also have:

- Experience in media and/or government relations.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering communications messages in multiple media formats
- High-level of attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation
- Experience in working with the media and in a political or policy
- Production skills for either print, online or broadcast mediums.
