**About The Role**
This is a fabulous opportunity for a strategic and innovative thinker who has the influence to create change and have a real impact on the delivery of health, safety and wellbeing for the people in the organisation.

The Head of Safety and Wellbeing will develop and lead the strategic direction for health, safety and wellbeing and support senior executives and the Board with actionable insights in safety performance. The role also has operational safety execution elements providing specialist and practical health, safety and wellbeing advice while balancing this with operational delivery. A true partnership role supporting leaders to safely manage their teams. The role is supported by a team to be defined of xx# of direct reports.

The role reports to the Executive Director People and Capability and works in partnership with Executive and Divisional leaders and the People and Capability team.

Key components will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of organisational safety strategy, systems, and processes, and supports leaders to ensure that safe systems of work are effectively implemented to manage safety risk. The role is the contract manager for the EAP, Injury management provider and work cover support consultants. The role will help ensure and monitor compliance with relevant HSW legislation.

**About You**
- A positive, engaging senior leader with a strong background in health, safety and wellbeing with a passion for continuous improvement
- Demonstrated experience in leading health, safety, and wellbeing, managing teams and managing WHS risk in high-risk and complex environments
- Demonstrated ability to provide intelligent, strategic, and politically astute advice to stakeholders in relation to health, safety, and wellbeing
- Demonstrated experience in identifying Psychosocial risk and the development of hazard management practices in an operational context
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic and operational change processes with authenticity, credibility, and a growth mindset
- Demonstrated stakeholder management expertise and experience, including the ability to engage, inform, and advise a diverse range of stakeholders in relation to highly complex issues and the ability to navigate organisational and regulatory processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write Board papers and demonstrated experience in contributing to the HR strategic planning, and the development and implementation organisational wide strategies and plans
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities for generating workplace innovation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and taking responsibility for initiating outcomes
