**The Opportunity**:

- The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a high performing Parliamentary Service Level 6 Emergency Management Advisor, Security Capability to join the Security Enabling Services Branch, Security Division.

The Security Division is responsible for the provision of security services, building security, access management, security capability asset management, Australian Parliament House (APH) and DPS security policy, security risk management, resilience planning and emergency management. Security Division is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. We work closely with diverse stakeholders who have unique needs and engage with our service delivery. We liaise extensively with other federal agencies and parliamentary departments to manage security at APH.
- To be successful in this role you will be required to effectively support the development and implementation of the APH and DPS physical security plans, policies and procedures, enabling compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks, including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and ASIO Technical Notes.

**Who we are looking for**:

Demonstrated experience in the design, development, and facilitation of multi-agency emergency preparedness exercises.
- Proven experience in physical security zone accreditation and certification review, including emergency/physical security procedures, plans, and manuals that align to industry standards and legislative requirements.
- Capacity to facilitate face-to-face preparedness training and briefings for senior office holders and building occupants alike.
- Established ability to analysis critical incidents and develop risk-based recommendations for reporting and remediation activities.
- Experience in managing a small team including, coaching, personnel matter management, and task hosting.

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- Currently hold or be willing to obtain the following nationally recognised qualifications:

- PAU50120-Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management)
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

- Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- 1. Liaise with other sections and external stakeholders to facilitate multi-agency emergency preparedness exercises.
- 2. Coordinate with internal and external professionals to determine, physical security zone accreditation and certification.
- 3. Ensure quality outputs for a small team including the development of specialist, professional and/or technical expertise. Conduct regular quality assurance of work area processes and manage identified risks.
- 4. Support the development and implementation of the Australian Parliament House (APH) and DPS physical security plans, policies and procedures, enabling compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks, including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and ASIO Technical Notes.
- 5. Maintain awareness of longer-term strategic or operational objectives in alignment with agency emergency/security process and plans.
- 6. Provide expertise and technical knowledge in specialist areas across a range of programs including training, emergency preparedness, and physical security.
- 7. Perform independent analysis and review of emergency incidents, operational plans and/or project objectives.
- 8. Other duties as required.
