**Role**:
The primary role of the ATSI Mentor is to support staff and students to achieve the best possible education outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait students at Mount Clear College.

A secondary role is to assist in other ways not directly in support of those students, but which assists the class teacher / Year Level Co-ordinators / Wellbeing Team in facilitating an understanding and knowledge of all students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. The ATSI Mentor is directly responsible to the Assistant Principal in the execution of his/her duties.

**Location Profile**:
Mount Clear College is nestled into an idyllic bush setting on the edge of the Woowookarung Regional Park, 6 kilometres from the centre of Ballarat. Our College is a Year 7 to 12 co-educational College and we are renowned for, and proud of, our ability to maintain the friendly, caring approach of a small school, despite our student numbers being over 1000.

The Centre provides specialist day programs for students, professional development activities for teachers and is a hub for science education across the State and hosts primary and secondary students from across Victoria who attend specialised programs provided by our Earth Education Centre.
