**Our Team**

The South Western Sydney (SWS) District Commissioning and Planning team is critical to DCJ’s engagement of, and collaborative work with, the government and non-government sector and is core to supporting the commissioning process, particularly in the context of an increased Government focus on collaboration, achievement of outcomes, large and shared reform agendas, increasing investment in the NGO sector and an increasing complexity in programs and contract requirements.

The team manages 133 contracts and relationships with more than 70 service providers and funds of almost $200 million that deliver DCJ funded programs across Specialist Homelessness Services, Targeted Earlier Intervention, Child Protection, Permanency Support Program and Domestic and Family Violence initiatives.

The Manager Commissioning and Planning works within the Commissioning and Planning Team within the district. The work is dynamic, fast-paced, and requires a sophisticated range of skills and experience.

The primary purpose of this role is to collaborate with and support the human services sector on many levels, including influencing the supply of local services, shaping, improving and remobilising the service system and leading a team to manage the commissioning principles, governance and relationships with providers to improve service delivery outcomes for vulnerable individuals, families and communities.

**What you’ll do**

In this role you will support a cultural change that shifts the commissioning and planning focus from compliance to service and a focus on delivering outcomes collaboratively with stakeholders, ensuring that a contemporary service system meets the needs of clients and communities in South Western Sydney.

You will facilitate engagement with the sector and local communities to improve the rate and quality of responses provided to children, young people and their families and directly contribute to better outcomes for individuals, families, and communities with a priority to grow the number of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations delivering services to families and communities.

You will embrace diversity and build and sustain collaborative relationships with stakeholders that supports innovative, flexible service delivery and improvement while maintaining effective contract management and commissioning practice.

**Requirements**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Highly desirable skills include: cultural competence; sound judgement; sophisticated communication and negotiation skills; ability to work in tight timeframes; experience in program design, management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
