**About the Role**:
Looking to shape the future? Look no further than the Strategic Planning Group. Our team is dedicated to strategic land use planning, infrastructure planning (including roads, traffic, transport, waterways, and parks), and property development. We need a talented and skilled individual who can transform our goals and aspirations into real-world documents, such as the Local Environment Plan, Contributions Plans, Development Control Plans, Strategic Asset Management Plan, Local Strategic Planning Statement, and supporting strategies. Join us in making a lasting impact on our community. The Group Manager of Shire Strategy will:

- Oversee The Hills Shire’s infrastructure growth strategy with council’s executive team
- Implement best practice strategies for infrastructure and transport, property development, building and asset management that support council’s goals and objectives.
- Provide high quality expert advice on strategic planning processes that ensure alignment and integration across functional business units and the elected governing body.
- Identify and analyse strategic trends that may affect the delivery of results and develop appropriate responses.
- Review and improve organisational business planning processes and reporting capabilities to drive performance and accountability.
- Ensure sustainable financial management of council assets
- Continue to promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Provide expert advice to both the executive team, mayor and councillors

You have excellent communication and advocacy skills, and you can build effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders. You are aware of the broader social, political, and economic issues that affect local, state and federal government sectors. You also have relevant tertiary qualifications for this role.
