**Position Information**:
Jindabyne Public School is a newly established school which opened in July 2023. In 2024 it will re-locate to the newly established site on the Barry Way, next to Jindabyne High School and the NSW Sport and Recreation Centre. This exciting project provides Jindabyne with a new primary school and new high school located at the Jindabyne Education Campus. It will see the transition of Jindabyne Central School into two separate schools. Jindabyne Public School currently operates jointly with the secondary department on the Jindabyne Central School site.
Jindabyne is located at the base of the Snowy Mountains on Monero-Ngarigo land, approximately 2 hours south of Canberra. Jindabyne Public School currently has a student population of approximately 300 students (approximately 3% identifying as Aboriginal) and the planned build caters for expansion to approximately 500 students. The school caters for a diverse student population and places a strong focus on academic success, student aspiration and the provision of opportunity. Excellence in Literacy and Numeracy is a strong focus and students are provided with a wide range of extracurricular opportunities across all fields of interest to meet the needs of every child. The school’s unique context provides opportunity for a variety of specialised programs. Strong parent and community partnerships support enriched learning experiences and provide meaningful connections to broader perspectives and opportunities. The unique context of this school sees student enrolments increase through winter requiring innovation and collaboration to support student success. The 2021 - 2025 Strategic Improvement Plan places a focus on effective classroom practice, student wellbeing and parents and community engagement.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach infants and primary with willingness and skills to implement extracurricular programs in drama, creative and performing arts, public speaking and debating.
- Capacity to contribute to a school culture that values professional collaboration to strengthen relationships and partnerships between school staff, students, parents and the wider community.
- Demonstrated ability to implement effective evidence informed data-driven practices, to cater for the diverse needs of students.
