The Big Sister Experience is on a mission to inspire the next generation through self-love and self-confidence to become the empowered, capable and resilient humans of tomorrow. Our team provides life education, mental health and wellbeing workshops for students, educators and families.
Founded by real-life sisters and ex-classroom teachers, the program goes above and beyond the curriculum to impart essential life skills that enable school communities to support each other and open crucial conversations.
Currently a team of 15, we are seeking new team members on an ongoing basis to help us scale our impact and service more school communities.

**What you’ll do**
The Casual Facilitator is responsible for the facilitation of student workshops for grades 5 through to year 12. This role will help The BSE achieve its goal of inspiring the next generation by empowering students with knowledge, skills and strategies to help them live fulfilled and happy lives.
This role is key to the organisation as it is a client-facing position representing The BSE brand, our program, and our values. Workshop content is pre-prepared within the program, but facilitators will have the opportunity to present this information in a way that is unique and meaningful to them, imprinting it with their own stories and lived experiences in a psychologically safe and age-appropriate manner.
Big Sister Experience team members will
- Present student mental health and wellbeing workshops and transition to high school workshops for students
- Report on workshops, debrief with other team members, engage in general reporting and duty of care reporting
- Facilitate face-to-face presentations for students
- Travel to various schools around the state (overnight rural and regional travel is required for this position, and travel pay and food allowances are paid on top of an hourly rate)
**The Nitty Gritty**
Please note this is a casual position. You **must** be available 2 days per week and will be **guaranteed** at least 1 day per week.
Due to the nature of our work, each shift will be at a different school on different days each week so driving is a big part of the role, and your own transport and driver's license are essential. Your mental health first aid certification is also a minimum requirement along with a valid Working with Children’s Check.
**Travel is an essential part of this role, and facilitators will be working away from home for approximately one to two nights per fortnight. They will be accordingly compensated for travel and overnight loading as well as food allowances.**
The Big Sister Experience Pay rate schedule adheres to the Fair Work Ombudsman Miscellaneous Award [MA000104]. Training Pay Rate: Observation & Learning, a base hourly rate of $29.33, + 11% Superannuation and an additional 0.98 cents per kilometre allowance. This progresses through to and finishes at, Step Three Pay Rate: Fully Trained Facilitators, a base hourly rate of $33.96 per hour, +11% Superannuation and an additional 0.98 cents per kilometre reimbursement. The advancement from Step One to Step Three within our training program will align with our internal benchmarks and the achievement of key performance indicators.
