**What you will be doing**:
A fabulous opportunity is available for 2nd year, First semester undergraduate Nursing Students to join the casual pool at Nepean hospital working in the role of Assistant in Nursing.
- Assistants in Nursing (AIN) provide support to the nursing team in an acute care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Assist Registered Nurse/Midwives and Enrolled Nurses with patient care interventions as directed and within the scope of practice
- Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required
- Communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol

**Selection Criteria to be Addressed**:

- Currently enrolled at university as a 2nd year undergraduate student nurse 1st semester
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide a person centred approach to patient care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal
- Previous experience working in an acute care setting
- Ability to work a flexible roster
- Demonstrated evidence of complying with Immunisation Category A
