We are currently looking for an
**Architecture & Urban Design Associate** to undertake design review of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and related design packages on behalf of MTM. The role will report to the Architecture and Urban Technical Manager and have responsibility for design review activities across the MTM program of works, focusing on the successful delivery of what will be one of the most iconic projects in Melbourne, the highly anticipated
**Melbourne Airport Rail Project**

This is a unique and exciting role as you will support various projects and gain exposure to multi-disciplinary teams, leading Australian designers and government stakeholders, enabling you to develop your experience in transport infrastructure and public precinct design and build a long-term career with Metro.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**
- Conduct reviews of design drawings, reports and supporting technical documentation to ensure compliance with relevant MTM standards and legislative and regulatory requirements including Rail Safety National Law, the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport and the National Construction Code
- Effectively identify, consult and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that functional and operational requirements are met, design related matters are effectively managed and works are successfully integrated
- Assist the Architecture & Urban Design Technical Manager with the review of Standard Waivers and Engineering Changes, responding to Requests for Information, producing Type Approval recommendations and developing Technical Notes, Specifications and Standards
- Monitor and report on the progress of all issues relating to assigned tasks and notify management of any matters which could have a material adverse effect on a project or the business
- Ensure appropriate records are always maintained

**About You**
- Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or an associated profession
- Experience in any of railway stations and public precincts design, stations operational environment, the Melbourne rail industry or design of specialised facilities such as other transport, defence, health or education will be considered favourably
- Experience with stakeholder engagement across multi-disciplinary organisations
- Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to whilst managing complex situations, having solid problem solving and negotiating skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally & written will all levels of stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, ability to write reports and manage time effectively
