**About the role**

As the Accessibility Manager, you play a vital role in the success of V/Line’s Operations Group. Your primary responsibility is to support customers with accessibility needs and provide advice on infrastructure, train and coach services to ensure they are safe and accessible for everyone across Victoria.

In this role, you will manage a team of two and oversee V/Line’s customer and community engagement efforts related to disability access. This includes developing and implementing communication and engagement activities to address the issues that affect customers, the community, and V/Line’s operations.

Key Accountabilities include:

- Manage DDA (Disability Discrimination Act 1992) Issues: Oversee and facilitate issues related to the DDA, ensuring continuous accessibility improvements.
- External Representation: Represent V/Line at disability and accessibility meetings, working parties, and forums.
- Stakeholder Management: Handle relationships with disability and accessibility organisations and advocacy groups.
- Community Engagement: Implement and integrate partnership and community engagement outcomes.
- Issue Analysis: Identify and analyse disability access issues, patterns, and trends, and work on solutions.
- Advisory Role: Provide advice on legislative and compliance requirements related to disability access.
- Engagement Programs: Develop and manage community and staff engagement programs.
- Accessibility Action Plan: Coordinate the development, measurement, and management of initiatives.
- Reporting: Handle reporting requirements under the Services Agreement and DSAPT exemption.
- Business Planning: Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

**About you**

You will be passionate about accessibility and be able to strategically think and plan through a Disability lense. You are skilled in project management, problem-solving, and strategic planning, with a passion for promoting accessibility and inclusivity. Effective in stakeholder collaboration, training, mentoring, and clear communication to enhance organisational awareness and best practices.
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, with at least 2 years in disability access roles.
- Access consulting qualifications are highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualification: (e.g., Community Relations, Business, Communications).
- Project Management: Skilled in planning, executing, monitoring, and completing projects on time and within scope.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify accessibility barriers, analyse root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
- Strategic Planning: Capable of designing and overseeing a company-wide accessibility strategy.
- Advocacy: Passionate about promoting accessibility and inclusivity.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Effective in working with diverse teams, including developers, designers, and legal teams.
- Training & Mentoring: Skilled in educating and guiding team members on accessibility best practices.
- Effective Communication: Clearly articulates accessibility requirements, provides feedback, and promotes awareness across the organisation.

Salary for this contracted opportunity is a Total Remuneration Package of $129,700 - $140,000, in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023.
